The Class Reunions
The Fifth

The first reunion celebrated the 5th year out of Lowell.  The theme was "If My Friends Could See Me Now" and was held at the Holiday Inn on Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco, August 19th, 1978.  Dinner was served at 7:30pm and cost a mere $10 per person. 

"Star Wars" had made it's debut the year before, and "disco" was at it's peak.  The reunion itself wasn't too glitzy as some of us were fresh out of college.  It wasn't a formal event, but we were asked not to wear jeans.  We had a decent gathering and those who attended still had strong memories of the recent past.  Our lives had not changed too much for the most part.  Some however were now married and some had kids.  I was just employed at the time with a goal to be working at a better paying job when the next reunion came around.  And in five years, the next reunion became a reality.
